Premium Aircraft Paint & Surface Protection Program
Aircraft exterior painting is more than aesthetics. It is a critical layer of protection that preserves structural integrity, prevents corrosion, and enhances long term aircraft value. At Aerosmith Aviation, every refinishing project is executed with disciplined process control, premium materials, and uncompromising attention to detail.
Our painting system is built around a comprehensive 334 point inspection and preparation checklist. Each aircraft undergoes a detailed evaluation to identify cosmetic imperfections, corrosion exposure, and mechanical considerations. All findings are documented and reviewed with the owner before work begins.
Sensitive components including flight controls, antennas, sensors, and composite surfaces are carefully removed or fully protected using approved shielding methods. A non acidic, environmentally responsible stripping agent is applied to remove existing coatings without compromising structural materials.

Aircraft paint is not cosmetic. It is a structural defense system that protects your investment against time, climate, and corrosion.
- Complete exterior paint removal using non acidic chemical stripping methods
- Corrosion detection and remediation prior to refinishing
- Alkaline wash, chemical etch, and alodine treatment for optimal adhesion
- Application of military specification epoxy primer system
- Precision polyurethane basecoat and clearcoat application
Following paint removal, all surface imperfections are corrected and corrosion control procedures begin. The aircraft is hand washed using an alkaline cleansing system to establish a contaminant free surface. All aluminum structures are chemically etched to promote bonding, then treated with alodine to create a protective conversion layer.
This aluminum oxide layer is essential for corrosion resistance and long term paint adhesion. Once surface preparation is complete, a military specification epoxy primer is applied. Depending on aircraft configuration, an epoxy surfacer may be added to achieve a perfectly uniform substrate before color application.
Multiple controlled coats of polyurethane basecoat are then applied to achieve a deep, high clarity finish with optimal adhesion characteristics. Our design specialists hand lay each paint scheme directly onto the aircraft. Before final color application, a digital rendering of the scheme is provided for owner approval to ensure complete alignment with expectations.
After approval, final colors are applied with strict quality controls. Unlike many refinishing facilities, our process continues well beyond paint application. Each aircraft undergoes detailed finishing procedures to elevate both appearance and protection.
